Plain-language summary for Headbangear. This page summarizes the site's current data practices for transparency and may be updated as the product changes.

Last updated: 2026-07-14

What this site does

Headbangear is a curated reference tool. A curated archive of metal lineups, albums, and musician history. Data is entered manually and reviewed. The public site is read-only; in-app feedback reporting is not enabled during this preview.

Information you may provide

There is currently no public feedback form and no public contact email on Headbangear. Archive corrections are reviewed manually offline. Do not expect a reply channel from these pages today.

If an in-app feedback form is enabled later, this page will describe what optional fields that form would store before or when that feature goes live.

Backend and hosting

Curated data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL). When the site is deployed, the hosting provider (for example Vercel) may keep standard server access logs (such as request time and path). We do not use those logs to build advertising profiles.

What we do not do today

  • No user accounts or logins on the public site
  • No first-party cookies from this application
  • No third-party analytics or advertising pixels
  • No production gear click analytics or tracking
  • We do not sell personal information

Signature gear pages

Selected gear pages for musicians from bands currently represented in Headbangears gear catalog are curated reference surfaces. Some listed products include Amazon Associates outbound links when an associate tag is configured. Other listed products remain reference-only with no purchase link.

In local development only, gear UI may log anonymous click events to the browser console for debugging. That logging is not active in production.

A first-party anonymous click-logging design exists for a possible future phase; it is not implemented in production and would be described here before activation.

Images and icons

Musician portraits on formation and gear pages often come from Wikimedia Commons with attribution shown on cards where applicable. The gear demo uses a guitar icon from Icons8 under the site operator's paid subscription. Band and product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners; this site is not endorsed by them unless explicitly stated on a specific page.

Affiliate links

Some Headbangear release pages and selected gear pages include Amazon affiliate links. Headbangear may earn a commission from qualifying purchases through those links. There is no additional cost to you. These are plain outbound links — not widgets or embedded Amazon storefronts. Headbangear participates in the Amazon Associates Program.

Where applicable, an associate tag is appended at runtime to operator-approved canonical Amazon product URLs. If the tag is missing or invalid, those purchase links and the on-page affiliate disclosure are omitted.

When you click an external Amazon link, you leave Headbangear and Amazon's privacy practices and policies apply on Amazon's site.

Headbangear does not display Amazon prices, ratings, reviews, availability, or seller information. This site does not use Amazon widgets, the Product Advertising API, Amazon shopping scripts, iframes, tracking pixels, on-site analytics cookies, OAuth, or third-party embeds for this affiliate implementation.

Pages that contain Amazon affiliate links display the required disclosure near those links: “As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.”

Pricing and stock on Amazon may change. Treat Amazon as the source of truth after you leave Headbangear.

Changes

If we add production click logging, cookies, third-party analytics, or a public feedback channel, this page will be updated before or when those features go live.
